“Teach us to number our days” (Psalm 90:12 NKJV)
Death is not a possibility—it is a certainty for every one of us. The only question is not if, but when. We saw many FGB brothers have gone home with the Lord much earlier than His second coming.
A motivational speaker once missed a flight and was furious—until he later learned that the plane had crashed with no survivors. What seemed like an inconvenience was actually divine preservation. That moment became a lifelong reminder: life is fragile, and every day is a gift.
The psalmist reminds us that our days are limited—70, or by strength 80 years. That is all. No extensions. No guarantees.
Yet many of us live as though time is endless—holding grudges, complaining, delaying what truly matters. This is not wisdom.
God gives us 1,440 minutes each day. What we do with them matters. Time wasted cannot be recovered. Opportunities missed may never return.
So, number your days. Live intentionally. Love deeply. Forgive quickly. Serve faithfully. Use your time to advance His Kingdom and reflect His character.
At the end of your life, what will matter is not your achievements, but your obedience. Not your success, but your faithfulness.
May we live each day with eternity in view—so that when our time comes, we will hear:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23 NKJV)
Let us redeem our time—while we still can.
